Short Stack are a three piece pop punk/rock/indie band from New South Wales, Australia. The band consists of Shaun Diviney, the lead singer, guitarist and writer, Andy Clemmensen, the bassist and backing vocalist, and Bradie Webb, the drummer.
They formed in 2005, and since then they have had over three million plays on MySpace and more than half a million on YouTube; even taking out number one video. Because of this, they are often recognised as Australia’s first and biggest Myspace band, with over forty thousand fans, who they often take the time to respond to.
In 2008, Short Stack were awarded Channel V’s OZ Artist of the Year Award, beating out other popular acts including The Getaway Plan, The Living End, The Veronicas and Kisschasy.
Stack Is The New Black is their upcoming debut album, and is set to be released on July 31, 2009. The band have released two singles, “Shimmy a Go Go” and “Princess”, with “Princess” debuting at number 11 on the ARIA singles chart, which made it the highest debut that week. A third single, “Sway Sway Baby”, will be released just before the album, on July 17.
