Just Pissed my Pants! It was the Live Chat Y'all!
BREAKING NEWS! THE LIVE CHAT IS HAPPENING RIGHT NOW! If you would like to chat with Short Stack, click this link pronto!

EDIT – 2:47PM: The Chat’s Over!
NEWS.COM.AU: Thanks guys. We’ll be wrapping up our chat now.
Sorry we couldn’t get to all of your questions but the response was massive.

EDIT 2: So what we’ve learned after the chat was….
- Shaun’s favorite track off SITNB is Counting the Stars.
- The new album comes out later this year. It’s described as ‘It’s really cool and I think it’s a good new direction for us’.
- Question: Do you reckon you’d have another tour with the Veronicas soon? Answer: It’s not on the cards at the moment but anythings possible. They were cool, they can support us this time!
- Shaun changed ‘We Break Dance, Not Hearts’ into ‘Thick as Thieves’ because he was bored of that name and some clothing brand has that name already.
- Question: How has fame affected your life? Answer: I get a lot more free stuff! It has affected positively and negatively but the best thing is to know your inspiring people but negatively sometimes you want time to yourself.
- Shaun’s idol is ‘Tom DeLonge’ from Blink-182. ‘He’s the reason I played guitar… I wanted to be in Blink 182 when I was younger ‘
- SHAUN LOVES SEA MONKEYS!!!!
- Bradie hasn’t told yet on Andy eating his parents icecream.
- Shaun’s favorite crowd to perform at is Festival Hall, Melbourne. ‘I think Festival Hall in Melbourne, but every show is the best. They all blow me away.’
- Question: What’s the name of the new album? Answer: I can’t tell you. It’s going to be a surprise.
- If Shaun was a chick his name would be ‘Shaunina’.
- Question: If you could change one thing about each other what would it be? Answer: I think other the boys are much better looking than I am. I think they are perfect in every way. Bradie said he’d change the lead singer! Booo.
- Question: Whats the craziest thing a fan has ever done for you? Answer: I got a guitar once, that’s probably the craziest thing. That was awesome.
- It’s the 5th year Short Stack have been together.
- Question: What was the hardest song to write on Stack Is The New Black? Answer: That would probably be Ladies and Gentleman… It was a very brand new sound and it worked in our favour.
- Question: What are you future plans after the release of your next album? And will you be touring again for the album? Answer: Not quite sure what’s going to happen… depending on how well it goes it might be our last album! A lot of fans are going to like it but for many it might not be their cup of tea.
- Bradie is getting a Tattoo in the upcoming weeks.
- The Back of My Head was written about the Book called ‘The Great Gatsby’.
- ‘Would be when we released Shimmy and we were in the car and it was the number one requested song on the radio. That was pretty special.’ Most Memorable Moment.
- Question: Are you doing any Meet and Greets for the new album? Answer: Yea we will be and we will be doing some big in-store tours so hopefully we can meet all you guys, and tell us why you all hate it :P
- Most of the answers were answered by Shaun :)

This is getting a bit more subjective, but I much prefer the Zune Marketplace. The interface is colorful, has more flair, and some cool features like ‘Mixview’ that let you quickly see related albums, songs, or other users related to what you’re listening to. Clicking on one of those will center on that item, and another set of “neighbors” will come into view, allowing you to navigate around exploring by similar artists, songs, or users. Speaking of users, the Zune “Social” is also great fun, letting you find others with shared tastes and becoming friends with them. You then can listen to a playlist created based on an amalgamation of what all your friends are listening to, which is also enjoyable. Those concerned with privacy will be relieved to know you can prevent the public from seeing your personal listening habits if you so choose.

One of my favorite things about blogging is this community of bloggers. We aren’t cut-throat. We share successes and miseries. And when something works, we don’t keep it to ourselves – we want it to work for everyone. I love blogging and hope that it becomes full-time one day, but I enjoy the learning and growing (the journey) and am a very patient man.

I’m starting to find my way in Photography. Since institution that offers photography study is very limited here (in Turkey), I bought books to study it myself. I would like to ask, is it helpful to invest in an online photography study?

A signal that you may have bad circulation in your legs is discoloration of the skin. If you notice a blue, purple or pale area on your leg, then this may perhaps be an indicator that the blood is not going as well as it should really to the spot.

The Zune concentrates on being a Portable Media Player. Not a web browser. Not a game machine. Maybe in the future it’ll do even better in those areas, but for now it’s a fantastic way to organize and listen to your music and videos, and is without peer in that regard. The iPod’s strengths are its web browsing and apps. If those sound more compelling, perhaps it is your best choice.

Apple now has Rhapsody as an app, which is a great start, but it is currently hampered by the inability to store locally on your iPod, and has a dismal 64kbps bit rate. If this changes, then it will somewhat negate this advantage for the Zune, but the 10 songs per month will still be a big plus in Zune Pass’ favor.

Everett Pendon - August 2, 2010 @ 7:59 PM

I’ll gear this review to 2 types of people: current Zune owners who are considering an upgrade, and people trying to decide between a Zune and an iPod. (There are other players worth considering out there, like the Sony Walkman X, but I hope this gives you enough info to make an informed decision of the Zune vs players other than the iPod line as well.)

Meda Gofton - August 2, 2010 @ 8:04 PM

The Zune concentrates on being a Portable Media Player. Not a web browser. Not a game machine. Maybe in the future it’ll do even better in those areas, but for now it’s a fantastic way to organize and listen to your music and videos, and is without peer in that regard. The iPod’s strengths are its web browsing and apps. If those sound more compelling, perhaps it is your best choice.

Julianna Revette - August 2, 2010 @ 10:54 PM

Between me and my husband we’ve owned more MP3 players over the years than I can count, including Sansas, iRivers, iPods (classic & touch), the Ibiza Rhapsody, etc. But, the last few years I’ve settled down to one line of players. Why? Because I was happy to discover how well-designed and fun to use the underappreciated (and widely mocked) Zunes are.

Everett Pendon - August 3, 2010 @ 12:32 AM

Angila Sainliere - August 3, 2010 @ 2:05 AM

Zune and iPod: Most people compare the Zune to the Touch, but after seeing how slim and surprisingly small and light it is, I consider it to be a rather unique hybrid that combines qualities of both the Touch and the Nano. It’s very colorful and lovely OLED screen is slightly smaller than the touch screen, but the player itself feels quite a bit smaller and lighter. It weighs about 2/3 as much, and is noticeably smaller in width and height, while being just a hair thicker.

Hands down, Apple’s app store wins by a mile. It’s a huge selection of all sorts of apps vs a rather sad selection of a handful for Zune. Microsoft has plans, especially in the realm of games, but I’m not sure I’d want to bet on the future if this aspect is important to you. The iPod is a much better choice in that case.

The new Zune browser is surprisingly good, but not as good as the iPod’s. It works well, but isn’t as fast as Safari, and has a clunkier interface. If you occasionally plan on using the web browser that’s not an issue, but if you’re planning to browse the web alot from your PMP then the iPod’s larger screen and better browser may be important.

Rider Waitetarotcards - August 11, 2010 @ 2:10 AM

I heard a rumor the other day that she uses the tarot to find words for her songs. I understand that she is an intuitive and it just came naturally.
However bear in mind that, I don’t think that the force of well-honed intuitive skills can be understated. Books can be very useful, but I think you have to engage intuition originally, so that you see their content through your intuitive eyes, so to speak. That way, useful subject pops out at you, and you can sift away the rest. That is how it works for me, anyway.

There are some exceptional beginner decks out there, the rider waite tarot cards being my favorite. Again, take the data that you get about them and check in with your intuition first. Does a deck talk to you? And if so, what does it say? Do you think you’d be able to have a fulfilling chat with it? If you get a brilliant yes, that’s a smashing starting point.
